Self harm is something a lot of teens struggle with. A lot of teens don't know how to cope any other way, its the closest thing to dying but staying alive. Self harm isn't just cutting! Cutting , scratching, burning etc . Anything that you do to harm yourself. Self harm is an addiction that becomes very hard to break. Self harm is not something you should even consider! if your considering self harming talk to someone or call 911! you don't deserve to do that to yourself, no one should ever make someone feel so bad that they think they deserve to harm themselves!
Self harm is something that is emotional, Talking about it can stress the selfharmer out a lot. If you know someone who self harms help them, but don't be to pushy, its a hard thing to talk about ! Self harm isn't always so obvious, as in this picture! If you think someone you know self harms get help! you cant fix there problems on your own! dont blame yourself for not being able to help them as much as you would like, it is a hard thing to "fix", it will take years to be fully recovered . Remember for them its an addiction and addictions are hard to break , they will probably get frustrated, and maybe relapse once in a while, but also remember that relapse is part of recovery, sometime you will break but if for the most part you arent harming yourself then you are on the right track. Remember the first step in getting better is admitting you have a problem , it is okay not to be okay !
Boys self harm too! don't forget that boys go threw the same amount of things as girls. A lot of girls think that if guys are sensitive there "uncool" NO GIRLS! that means there human, they have feelings just as much as we do, things hurt them too. Boys just know that your not alone! you are loved!
Remember that self harm is a mental illness and it will take time to get better, you have to be willing to get better for the recovery process to get underway! Keep an open mind! Try to stay positive and if you feel like cutting do something that makes you happy like singing or dancing, relax yourself , talk to someone. You will be okay i promise!
